RABBIT ISLAND SAUVIGNON BLANC 750ML
Fresh and vibrant with crisp varietal characters and beautiful, mineral acidity.
The Rabbit Island Nelson Sauvignon Blanc is crisp, clean and varietal with notes of passionfruit and melon. The palate is broad and flavoursome, leaving a lasting impression. Appealing fresh seasonal hop notes with nettle and gooseberry flavours come through on the palate and linger with a mineral thread of natural acidity.
The Seifried story began in 1973 when Austrian born Hermann Seifried and his New Zealand wife Agnes had a dream of making wines in New Zealand’s sunshine capital - Nelson. From very small and modest beginnings when Hermann and Agnes grafted the vines late into the night, to today when all three Seifried children have returned home to play their part in growing the family business. Seifried Estate is a company devoted to sustainable winegrowing and producing the very best Nelson has to offer.
In the vineyards, leaves were removed from around the fruiting zone to allow light penetration and air movement around the ripening bunches. Parcels of fruit were picked when flavours, sugars and grape acids were nicely in balance, giving fruit with intensely varietal flavours and a fresh, lasting acidity. Vineyard: Seifried Brightwater and Queen Victoria vineyards. Sugar at harvest: 21.4° Brix. pH of wine: 3.17. T.A of wine: 6.3g/L. Residual sugar of wine: 3.3g/L.
